Okay, so I needed a word to rhyme with "easter", and seester (sister) was the best I could do. Make fun of me all you want.

Who loves flowers? I know I can definitely appreciate a nice bouquet in a vase filled with water or colorful stones.

However, the only issue I have with flowers in a vase is filling the vase with various stones and/or decorative liquid and beads without it getting messy or going bad.

That's why today's DIY involves making a small flower arrangement while using a tall candlestick holder...with a little Easter flair!

Supplies:

  • 7 stems of flowers (I used white peonies, perfect for spring)

  • Tall candlestick holder

  • Wire clippers

  • Tape

  • 2 Easter-themed ribbons, approximately 12 inches each

Step 1:

Take two of your flowers and hold them together so that the stems are side by side. Cut off some tape, and wrap it around both of the stems tightly. Do the same thing for the others until you're left with one flower.

Step 2:

Take the single flower, and then take the three pairs of flowers and surround the single flower with them. Then take a long piece of tape and wrap it around the stems tightly, similarly to Step 1, and close to the flower bulb.

Take the wire clippers and cut the excess stems off, close to where you wrapped the tape.

Then, take one of the 12-inch piece of ribbon and wrap it once around the bottom part of the stems. You can tie it into a single knot if you like.

Step 3:

Grab the candlestick holder and put the bouquet of flowers into the opening at the top. Take the ribbon that is hanging from the bouquet and let it flow downward on either side of the holder.

Step 4:

Take the second ribbon and tie it around the top area of the candlestick holder in a bow.

And you're all set! Now you have a nice flower arrangement that you can showcase during Easter!

Hint: you can change the ribbon to any other holiday-theme and re-use it while celebrating the holidays!

Hope you enjoy Easter!
