I love embossing! The raised patterns add texture and appeal to any design. Even though it can get a little messy, the finished product makes it all worth it and something you can be proud of.
Here is a quick yet stunning design that anyone can do!
Supplies:

Royal Blue Cardstock Paper - 8 1/2" x 11
Gold Embossing Powder
Embossing Pen
Stencil
Pink Heat Embossing Gun *OR* Blowdryer
Okay let's get started!
Step 1:

Take the cardstock paper and lay the stencil on top of it. Using the emboss pen, outline and color in the stenciled part onto the cardstock paper.
Step 2:

Lift the stencil off of the cardstock paper so you can see what you stenciled.

Take the emboss powder and pour it over the stenciled design. The sooner this is done, the better- you don't want to wait too long and the emboss ink dries, because then the emboss powder will not stick to the paper!
Step 3:

Swish the powder around gently to make sure that each of the inked surface is cover. Then, hold the two opposite sides of the paper upward (as to create a "U" with the paper), and slowly pour the excess powder back into the jar. The powder should adhere to every surface that was inked.
Step 4:

Take your embossing gun (or blowdryer), turn it on the lowest to medium setting (if there are multiple settings to choose from), and aim it directly at the powdered design. Be sure to hold it about 2-3 inches away from the paper, or it could accidentally smudge and ruin your design.
Move it back at forth for some time, and within about 10 seconds, you should start to see the powder turn from dark gold to a bright gold, melting the powder onto the paper and creating a metallic affect. Once the powder in one area is completely melted, move onto the next area, until every part of the design looks like a metallic gold.
Ta-da! You now have a beautiful frame-worthy piece of art that you can showcase.

…and this is just the beginning! There are a lot of things you can do with embossing powder. Anything that will allow the embossing pen to transfer ink and allow the powder to stick should be embossible. Just be sure to stay away from flammable things, due to the heat of the embossing gun.
The possibilities (or should I say, "emboss-ibilities") are endless!
Keeping it Classy and Crafty,
-SS
